The Strathalbyn Tourism Association and volunteers invite you and your members to visit the Gilbert’s Motor Museum at 34 High Street, Strathalbyn.

As motoring enthusiasts, we are sure that you will all be impressed with the collection of vehicles on display, from bicycles through motorcycles to veteran, vintage and classic cars as well as motorsport vehicles, automobilia, garagenalia, and a substantial motoring library.

The Museum opened in early 2020, following its reimagining from an old mechanical workshop and showrooms (which were the original Gilbert Motors buildings), and almost immediately had to contend with the Covid pandemic. However, such is its popularity, that the Museum welcomed its 10,000^th visitor in mid-February 2022. Visitor feedback to date has been fantastic (check out our reviews on Google, Trip Advisor and Facebook) and has spurred us (volunteers) to strive to provide even more exhibits and facilities in the future.

Strathalbyn provides a wonderful location for a Club Run, with its abundant cafes, hotels and dining options, generous parks and numerous attractions (including the High Street antique shops). Adding a visit to Gilbert’s Motor Museum to your club’s run calendar will certainly ensure your members a memorable occasion.

We have concessional rates for Club group entries (about the same as a cup of coffee!) and would look forward to offering our full services to your members including guided tours if required.

Volkswagen is one of the world’s largest automakers. It houses brands such as Audi, Porsche, and Bentley. But perhaps its best-known vehicle is the Volkswagen Beetle. Over its entire lifespan, Volkswagen sold over 22.5 million of all three versions of the Beetle. But in July of 2019, production one of the most iconic and important cars of all time came to an end.
